Genuine ww1 camo helmet or a rework?

What would be your opinion on this helmet? I think it's a bit shiney. But the inside and stamp look better. Seller is asking around $300.

The white circle decal under the camo paint on the left side is a dead giveaway. As far as i'm aware these helmets were not decaled until the Reichswehr Era. On top of that this is not a WWI camo scheme. Dont get me wrong it could be a good repaint from a different era, but for WWI I'm thinking

That paint aint thick enough for a WW1 splinter/dazzle type camo helmet.
.. The paint to me always looks to be hand applied .. the paint in the photos looks to be sprayed.

In my opinion the helmet has very little value due to the unfortunate fact that a perfectly fine M16 shell has been ruined with the application of this bogus WW2 type camo.

I am bit late but ya, WWII type camo on a WWI shell. Someone messed up.

If you can put me in contact with the seller I am in the market for a shell to repaint for use on a scooter

              Yeah, bad camo job here.

However...I don't think you should automatically discount M16s with WWII camo jobs.

There were ALOT of M16 shells used later in WWII, lots with decals even though they were utilized late in the war. I wouldn't be surprised if some were camo painted too.
