I am assuming this is an Imperial German shoulder cypher ?? Cant work our what the 'IX' refers to...anyone help ??

Interesting..what era ?? Frederick IX was from 1947 ?? It came in a small box with some Brit WW1 stuff. (shoulder titles and ribbons).

Frederick IX reigned from 20 April 1947 to 14 January 1972, so it would have to be during that era. It looks a little bit old to me so it could be from the earlier years of his reign.
