I just got this postcard , dated 11-6-17 ,showing 2 Kraftfahrer next to a gravestone that reads : "ICI -SONT TOMBES -3 Soldats Francais -Vietimes de la Retraite - de 1814 "

..and the other guy . This seems to be "Jul.=Julian " ,since he has an "O" over his head , who wrote the card . Note , that he has removed his collar tabs with the "car"-symbol and he seems to have cover slip-ons over his shoulder boards . But he is wearing his haevy "butcher-knife" bajonet with his unit's "Troddel" on it .Attached Files

Here now the written side of the postcard , dated 11-6-17 . German Text : Jul. =Julian is asking his friend Karl to send him a rationstamp booklet for bread , since he is in bad shape , --and he can not ask his own family to send same ! From this , I assume that the food conditions at the frontlines had to be bad from the middle of 1917 on !. I hope Vic Diehl will like this Postcard for his Kraftfahrer Files !
