Great looking M16 Ron. I'd take a stab in the dark & say that it might have been camoed in WW2. It's got what looks to be an M35 liner pin on the L/H side & there's always a chance it got through without being re-issued with a new liner. Plus the fact it's similar to alot of WW2 camo schemes.
Just a thought !
