It does not look like one of the current reproductions. Isn't the shell original? The entire helmet has been repainted and restored?

I think they are what some would call "original Repos" But yes they are original shells that were redone. There was two until I saw them now only one
I asked about them, one had no finish left and the other had only about 5% so they were restored. One had a spot of paint putty applied on the side to smooth out a blemish and I wanted to avoid that one of the two but was told after they were finshed he lost track of what one had the putty on it. I will have to hope I got the one with no putty applied.

If you have ever seen Westfront1918 they look exactly like the cut out the officer was wearing near the beginning of the film.

I thought the shell looked good. It is like those Unique Import helmets from the 1970's. Original shell, but repainted nad had a Norwegian liner installed.

It is a re-done, but an original M-18 cut-out shell would have some value even if it was restored. Does look cool and you are right it does look like the one in Westfront 1918.

I saw that too. Thought for a repo it was a bit steep. As for Westfront1918, I think even with black and white film the color of the Cut out the officer had comes through and looks just like the ones re done by German Helmets Inc.

There is no way anyone will ever find a mint un issued Cut out so I will be happy with it even if re done. It will display very nice.
