Well, when they move the thread to the Imperial Medals, you'll have a reply.
The medal itself is well made. I don't like the color of the metals. Don't look gold at all and for this level of award they would be. I don't care for the oaks and I have not run across the snaps on the ribbon on old pieces. I suppose it may be possible this was a later made piece, similar to the Austrian Golden Fleece we looked at a few months back on the forum. In that case, the fleece was real but just a modern or more recent manufacture. But as I don't own one of these I defer to someone who does. I don't like it. SteveComment
