    Grandfathers helmet

This is a picture of my grandfather as a child. The picture is taken around 1911-14. His father was an officer in the engineers and he himself made a career as an officer in the Royal Danish Guards.

Does anybody know what kind of helmet his is wearing? The helmet is not in the family anymore, and I have never seen it.

I suspect that it might be german/ prussian, because he was given another helmet as well, which I still own (picture)

    Cheers

    Karsten

I'm not sure, but the helmet in the photo looks like Saxony, I saw a similar one in the Army Museum in Dresden with the star plate and comb.

The boy is wearing a Danish cavalry helmet, they are quite common in the collections of Germans who live on the Danish border. I have seen a few in my travels.
