Opinions on Officer's tunic please
Hello,
Here is a tunic recently acquired. There are no stamps or dates. Can anyone please identify what type of tunic it is and its period - WW1 or later?
Thank you,

DAK,
This is a very nice and correct M1915 Leutnant tunic for a Prussian Eisenbahner. I cannot see the shoulder straps well enough to tell, but there should be a regimental number inside the lower loop of the "E". By 1913 there were four Prussian and one Bavarian regiments.
The tunic is typical of a privately purchased piece, from the cut, to the buttons, to the quality of the lining and materials.
The gray (Hellgrau) underlay of the shoulder boards for officer's of the Verkehrstruppen was adopted in 1911.
A Prussian officer's belt with this would make for a great display.
