Can one of the Imperial Headgear Experts please ID this Pickelhaube for me and give me a ball park range on value. I am not an expert on these and would really appreciate the assistance.

It's an Officer of the "2. Garderegiment zu zu Fuss" 3rd Batallion. 1 and 2 come with a white Hair. So 2nd Foot Guards 3.Bn.

Actually I believe it is a simply a Guard Pioneer helmet.

You were partially correct. Several units used the silver guard plate, gilded chinscales and stars, and a black plume: the Garde-Fusilier-Regt, the Garde-Pionier-Batn, the Kraftfahr-Batn, and both Eisenbahn Regts Nr. 1 and 2.
Although the helmet would be the same for the 5-Garde-Regt zu Fuss, that regiment used a white plume.
The 2-Garde-Regt zu Fuss helmet plate was actually in brass, not silver.

Hey Dave,

Thanks... I didn't realise that it could also be those other units as well.... but I was certain of the Pioneer with the black bush.

What is the going price for one like this ?

Pricing I suppose is subjective, but IMO a helmet like this would fetch $2500-3000 in the US.
