    Picklehaube Query

    Hi,

    I have been looking to buy a picklehaube for some time but they are not my area of expertise as my collection focus is WW2 german helmets.

    I would appreciate any comments on the following Picklehaubes originality and also an approximate market value.

        Chinstrap looks like a reproduction.....Everything else looks like it may be original.....My only concern is the split pins holding the spike on.....They look somewhat "new" underneath.....May be just the picture.....Hands on would help.....I just bought one locally with steel fittings in comparable condition for $225, but I think I got lucky.....I believe brass fittings are higher(?)....Some one should be able to give you a fair market value....Bodes
