    Full Visor Variant Helmet?

Is this the full visor variant helmet that is spoken of in Floyd R. Tubbs book STAHLHELM 1971 ed. p.28.??

Light weight, looks like Q68 mark.

Looks to me to be more a between-the-wars parade helmet. For a second I thought it was a repained DDR fire helmet....how similar is the one in Tubbs book to the one in Bayer?

Yup, thats what it is. Notice the funky lugs which are too far forward and with too big a hole. The other clue is the horizontal turning marks on the shell. Like on one of the ersatz tin pickelhaubes. I would say 1920's.

Thanks guys. On closer inspection, it does appear to be made of aluminum. more photos at the helmet and headgear forum, late war helmet thread, posts #92-97.

This helmet may come up for sale.
