    camo helmet

I collect mainly U.S. militaria. I found this in an antique shop today while looking for U.S. items. It was only $10.00, so I was willing to take a chance on it. There is no liner. In the bottom of the helmet is a very tiny 067 and on the left side near the rim is what looks like a either an AL 64 or a triangle L 64. It is faint and hard to read. The fasteners to hold the chin strap are on the helmet. I had this in the WW2 helmets and it was sugested I move it here.

    Thanks, Jerry

It is WW1 The camo looks like the type that is found mainly on ww2 german helmets. The paint looks good, but I'm unsure about the tan sploches, they look a little odd from the photos. At any rate I think that you did good for only a $10 investment. Andy

                Jerry,
That is a gorgeous spring camo M16 helmet . I does look similar to some WW2 camos but this is real ww1. The paint is original as you can see minor traces of old rust coming through the paint in the close up photo. If you ever think about parting with it, I would be interested in buying it and will pay a fair price.

                    Thanks

Thanks for the replies fellows. I guess that was my lucky buy for this year. It was just a mom and pop antique shop here in Indiana. I have had good luck in finding U.S. items. I also picked up a pair of goggles that I will post on the WW 2 equipment forum and see if they are OK or not.
