    We have all seen the letter openers made from machined bits of shrapnel. But how's about a pie spatula? I have never seen a piece of shrapnel made into something so elaborate.

      It's beautifully done, but it seems like an odd thing to make from a splinter. For some reason, letter openers make more sense.
