Liner question

I'm new to collecting and just purchased a Heer 35. I noticed this number"92" on the underside of the leather liner. I looked in my book
"Wehrmacht Combat helmets 1933-45.but don't see any mention of this.
I would appreciate any info.

Could be an inspector's stamp.
Were there any other markings?
