Recently picked up a M15 feldgrau OR's cap in the storage box. The cap, which is for artillery, pioneer or technical troops is in very nice condition.

The box. It was a treat to get a Saxon M15 in a Saxon box. Although I never really ment to do this, I find myself developing a collection on carrying boxes (now have three) to go with my grwing group of Helmet carring cases.Comment

Thanks Mike. I have about 50 caps in the collection. Mostly pre-war but have begun to pick-up the greys as well. You are right, this was an ebay buy, can't believe I got it so cheap, the boxes alone are pulling $100+ these days.Comment

Was?? Bob, I first noticed the lack of bottom piping, then realized......is that a black removable band slipped over the red? Here is mine, the photo is awful, I have all my Haubes re-photographed with the Fuji, the caps are yet to be done

Thanks guys, Tony - you are right on as usual, slip-on band saves labor during wartime. The pics are the actual ones used by the seller on ebay, I am slow as a turtle with a broken leg in quicksand when it comes to getting photos taken of my stuff.Comment

Tony, It's only the second one I've come across. I have a pre-war 11th Hussar made by Pekuro which has a slip on band. Most of my cap friends concur in the scarceness of the style.Comment
