question on unit and uniform on the photo

Good day, Gentlemen!
First of all I'm sorry if I should post it to Papers forum.
I know nothing at all about WWI era. Is it possible to identify the unit on the photo? Is that hussars uniform?

The cancellation stamp has "Schleswig" on it and in the text the writer states this is a squadron of Schleswig hussar recruits which would be Hussar Regt. 16. Mounted beer drinkers apparently. The card was sent to a soldier in Infantry Regt. 6 in Munich.
