Need help with Husarenmütze Kolpak

I have been offered this Husarenmütze. Comes with Wehrpass from Husarenregiment König Humbert von Italien (Kurhessen). Any opinions on the Mütze would help me. Liner looks like a post war fire fighter example.

I agree with you on the liner, and to be clear, post WWII. Definitely not of the Imperial period. Is the book supposed to belong to the original of the hat?

Yes he claims that they came both together out of the family.
