    EKII for review please

    Hi Guys,

I would like to get some opinions on this cross if possible. I hope the pictures suit as it is all I have at the moment. I am becoming more interested in these 1914 EK's but I have much to learn.

The cross is described as having a brass core and "soldered" silver frame.

Thanks in advance to all who comment. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards and Happy Holidays!

I would really like to help you with this but the truth is, we don't know anything about this style of cross.
Every few years, one gets posted and there is usually a discussion along with it but we still don't know who
made them, when they were made or if they were actual awarded crosses or private purchase or as has been
    speculated, theatrical or souvenir pieces.

They were once claimed to be made by the French as anti-German propaganda
but theory has been pretty much discounted.

If you do a forum search using the keyword "propaganda" you with find more than one thread about
    this style cross.

      Hi Greg,

That was actually very helpful. I was searching for quite some time before posting this but hadn't found any like it. As you suggested a quick search for "propaganda" turned up several.

      Thank you for the help!

        You are welcome.
I know some collectors don't like them but I keep one in my own collection.

I actually think it's a really good looking cross but I'm not sure it's worth the $80usd the sellers asking.

I did enjoy reading the threads and will be better prepared for the next one!

          Happy hunting!
