I have never seen a period mini with such an ugly ring.
However, that does not mean it is not from the time period.
We have to remember that minis were never a official award. They
were just fancy bobs to be worn on civilian clothing. Personally,
I just can not say for sure if it is an old original or a modern fake.
my gut says modern but that's just a guess on my part.
