    Deumer EK1 1914?

    Hello Guys,

Send to me these pictures. Is it a Deumer EK1?

The hardware looks like a Deumer, but I have doubt with de frontal design...

    Regards,

    Schmidt

It is indeed a Deumer. You are right about the frontal design. IMO it has a PKZ or LDO period frame. Not the usual "schinkel frame" for this type.

            Obviously I've missed something.

This hardware was used by multiple manufacturers.

This core was used by multiple manufacturers.

Why is this example "obviously" Deumer? Is there a Deumer marked example with this hardware out there somewhere? Please post it for my reference!

            Regards
            Mike

This core is as far as I know only used by Deumer!

After dealing with 2 days of a corrupted computer (following another Microsoft update) I went to prove that last statement wrong and found I could not! Happy to say I have learned something re the cores (had to scan them at x400 to make out the differences - 10 years ago that would not have been required!) - thanks Green!

I pulled out 8 TR period EK1s with what I thought were the same cores but it turned out there were subtle enough features to distinguish them all such that the type at the top of the thread matched my 1914 L/11 marked example and other unmarked examples with more typical Deumer hardware.

My comment about the hardware is imo still correct though, and looking through the link at least one of the other pinback types depicked is more commonly associated with at least one other maker.

                  Hello Mike,

Good to hear that you have put in so much effort to come to the same conclusion. Even better that you share this! We all learn something from this

About the hardware of the Deumer in this topic. I know two other makers who use this these type of hardware. IMO... for me these have their own specific characteristics, which makes them different from Deumer.
