old magazine picture

I just recently found this old magazine picture. It is from a magazine
called "Every Saturday". This picture is from the Dec. 24, 1870 edition.
My scan really does not do this picture justice as the detail is amazing.
But being as the the picture is 14" X 24" I can't post a large enough image
here to bring the detail out. Still pretty neat for being 149 years old.

I agree completely. I just wish I could have found the entire magazine
and not just a couple of pages.

Very nice pic! Although I believe EK's were not "distributed" from the horseback They were awarded, in a proper ceremony, especially in 19th century, when it was a relatively scarce award (comparing to ww1&2).
