    ID’ing a Badge

Please note the small square badge below Hindenburg’s Black Eagle Order. I see this frequently in portraits. What is it?

That is the Silver Wedding Anniversary Badge of Wilhelm II and Auguste Viktoria, awarded to attendees of the festivities and worn on the ribbon of the Prussian order last awarded to the recipient.

Very good info. No doubt a rare badge and one I’d love to have.

Nice photo of medal bolewts58. Can you show the reverse/pin of yours. I'd like to see if mine is similar. Thanks

It's not mine. But, here's the reverse of it and some other examples on other order ribbons.

Thanks bolewts58. Great examples of other ribbons. And the pin on mine looks similar. It's difficult to know what order my ribbon reflects since so many of the orders with swords used this ribbon.

Very nice badge and info. This "ribbon of last Prussian award" is pretty unique feature. Anybody knows reasons for this criterium?

And I see Herr Hindenburg has loops all over his left breast, so he can DIY arrange all kinds of decorations. Obviously practical, although a bit unsighty.

                    Very nice badges.....specialy the non-combatant

                    For those who didn't know:

Post # 2 is on a non-combatant ribbon ( most white with black)
Post # 7 is on a combatant ribbon (most black with white )

Mike, send me a PM if you're serious, I have one with documents awarded to Freiherr von Esebeck, the Kaiser's Master of Horse.
