WW1 silver ring questions

Hello all
I’m not familiar with WW1 silver rings.
Looking for opinions on this one, it’s a really small size, I’m thinking a ladies ring

The inscription says "Metal Collection 1914" which I assume means this ring represents a donation of jewelry for the war effort. It's obviously base metal, maybe iron. Is it magnetic?

It’s a donation ring. Similar to the gold for iron rings, this probably was for a lady. At the beginning of the war, women (particularly the wives of soldiers away fighting) were asked to donate metal household appliances for the war effort. The ring was given as an acknowledgement of their donation, and made a nice patriotic statement about their role when it was worn. Not as common as other donation rings, so it is a neat piece to hold on to- especially if you are an imperial collector more than a ring collector.

Very cool ring iv never seen that variant before, just the iron for gold ring that is more common.
