EK2 Possible Makers Number?

Hi folks, just a quick question on this EK ive just purcasedAllways look for ring stamps as we all do and saw what might well be the numbers 100 stamped to the ring soldered onto the frame. Might well be wrong and its just some knocks from time or production so i would like your opinions please if possible Oh by the way the ribbon ring does seem smaller that usually found on WW1 examples
p.s. Just noticed the large flaws along the beading to the frame!!

First thought is a KO ( Klein & Quenzer with probably an 800 silvermark in the small ring. IMO a private purchase wartime cross....

KO is known for using small platform on the frame for a jumpring. This one has jumpring soldered high on the frame, but I do not see the platform there. Maybe we should see the mark on the ribbon ring as well, there looks to be one (partially seen on the last photo).

So far I haven´t seen silver hallmarks on the small ring, would be interested to see some other examples. To me the jumpring mark looks like commonly seen control mark with some random tool marks hanging around. It takes a lot of imagination to make 8 from something that looks (at best) like 1.

Anyway, cross is good awarded time piece, at least something I can agree with

Very nice and very rare. Fortunately for me, I carefully wrote "I haven´t seen" and not "they do not exist", which makes quite a difference, at least outside Holland. Now it is 1 hallmark against around 100 registration marks or notorious We marks and against 10.000 tool marks that I have commonly seen on jumprings.

And now compare your silver hallmark with the one on the jumpring of the thread starter. There is a third part of my previous statement you forgot to comment. Focus on the depth and position of the mark. After doing this by myself, I am hesitating if there is some mark at all. The marking on the jumpring of the thread starter is so shallow that it haven´t caught patina yet. That rectangular tool mark to the right is deeper.

The wire, when becoming a jumpring, gets quite brutal forces executed in a small diameter, so no wonder there is often some tool mark. And it depends only on imagination - and personal experience - what everyone sees in it. Someone can see hallmark, while someone else sees pliers. I´ve learned to believe only in markings that are deep enough, readable, and positioned firmly on the side, which makes sense how they were stamped.

It is typical for threads like these that someone creates them to ask some question (probably to get some answer, at least this is what I think) but he does not respond when he is requested to make some extra pictures. If we could see the mark on the ribbon ring, maybe we would be wiser. The jumpring marks are always typical for particular ribbon ring marks, maker "R" is a typical example of this.

After reading your carefully written and substantiated opinion , I must agree with you! Makes much sense what you wrote. I was to hasty with my opinion at some points, as you mensioned . I hope you can see now , it also makes a difference in Holland

Firstly may i thank everyone for there replies I started this thread as the marks on the small ring made me think they might be numbers of some sort or as i mentioned at the begining it might well be from production handling, i also thought this might be of interest to fellow members here in the Imperial section. As for the the requested extra pictures that i have not responded to, well i work all week including weekends and time has been against me to tell the truth and just to clarify to your kindly reply to my thread ''maybe we should see the mark on the ribbon ring'', may i add that the ribbon ring is unmarked im afraid to say
