Show your A14 variation Iron Crosses

A show thread for A14 Iron Crosses. In other words Iron Crosses from 1914 which have a core from a modified 1870 A core die/mould (let's not get pedantic with words).

I'll start with one EK1 and three EK2 of the A14 variation.

This EK1 was very hard to come by.

This A14 is of an unusually crisp cast.

I believe most of these cores were done in a quite haste as they are so crudely cast.

Two of cruder cast. The darker is marked WS.

Now it's time for the forum to contribute

Sorry, it was in one of my files and I have the same crosses. I fotograph the same way you do. Seriously thought it were my photos. Removed them...I will post my crosses tomorrow

          Green,
Nice crosses, however that photo is taken by me and the EK1 can be seen closer in post Nr.1 in this thread the EK2 in that photo you show was replaced by that crisper unmarked one in post Nr. 3.

              Thanks

              Here they are!
EK I is not marked but IMO a Wagner piece. EK II is marked WE J.H. Werner.

                Here's mine. It's marked "W&S" (for Wagner & Sohn I presume).

Stunning, keep them coming. I really like that marking of W&S you have there.

Thanks Dansson. It is one of the nicer markings I have seen.

I believe these are the earliest awarded Iron Crosses Class 1. Also with the fact that at the beginning of the war, not as many EK I crosses were awarded as later in the war, makes them IMO very hard to find
