Is Walther Schot a known maker of Imperial U Boat badges?

Hi. From here it looks like a textbook Walter Schott badge. If it is not, the fakers have really gotten good. Ron.

Here is the reverse of a textbook Schott. Compare.

            Hi,
What we know so far is that Walter Schott was a designer of Imperial u-boat badge. There is also a good chance that he subcontracted production of 'Schott-type' badges to an unknown maker and acted as the supply agent.
            Cheers,
            Hubert

Stiriations on the reverse of the ebay badge look odd to me. On accepted original Schott badges these stiriations are not that regular.
              Cheers,
              Hubert

This badge is of course a fake being sold by ebay member porre81. https://www.ebay.com/itm/WK1-Walter-...53.m1438.l2649

If you check his auctions you will see that his fakes are getting better all the time.

I have already warned about this seller in the past. He usually has a very few genuine items mixed in with a lot of very high-end fakes. He will not accept returns or give refunds. Steer clear of him.

This is his name and address.

Is the Schott logo raised instead of stamped?

It is stamped but it looks a tad softer than an original so I'm leaning towards it being cast from an original badge.

Among other things that badge lacks the details of an original. As suggested here before it's likely a cast "reproduction".
