an ausweis for ww1 EK2

Hello,

I have found this document, belonging to my grand-father.

But I've never see a document like that for the EK2. I've seen award document, but what do you think about this ausweis ? What could be the purpose of this certificate ?
Same thing as the award document ?

Normally there was given a "Vorläufiger Ausweis" - preliminary certificate - but I also found an

other document in the same version as yours - without the additional word "Vorläufig":

They were all "local" variants as there was no standardized document. Also, in the majority of cases, a preliminary document was all that was ever given.
