    Uboot War Badge 1918 Hollow

    Hello

Can I get a opinion for this badge please?
Is it a badge from the 1930‘s?

    Regards

You can explain me for sure why this should be a postwar badge ?

post war doesnt necessarily mean it's not original. There are several postwar uboat and pilot badges that are collectible. this one appears post war to me because its not of a solid construction, most that i've seen that are similar to yours were labeled post war. however, I'm no expert, and I'm sure someone with far more experience will chime in shortly.

There are hollow ones listed in the S+L catalog from 1939.

It depends on what you mean by "post-war". It is indeed post-WW1 but not post-WW2 in my opinion.

The one posted by Robin in the opening post is the Deumer obverse design which (like S&L) was listed in their catalog in both solid and hollow forms.

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

Here's another example of the hollow Deumer design with the same type of reverse setup as in Robin's post, which I agree is likely from the 1930's.

One more of this type with the same hinge but a stamped sheet metal catch instead of the round-wire catch.
