Questions about an imperial German cavalry sword.

    Hello,

I have recently come across this sword that I'm interested in. It looks like quite a nice example of an imperial German damascus sword. I wonder about its authenticity. I will definitely research more about it and request more photos before any possible purchase. I wanted to ask about it's authenticity, and if it is authentic, around what year was it made. Here is the page where current pictures have been posted: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-WW.../113255736017?

    Thank you,
    Jack Altomont

    Hi Jack,
IMO, authentic for sure. Nice Grosser pattern from around 1900. Has a few minor problems like the bent knuckle bow and tip of the blade, but should clean up nicely.
love the filigree work on the knuckle bow. good luck !

    regards, fletcher

Thank you so much for the information and observations about the condition. It's always helpful to hear more about these kinds of things.

      Thank you,
