    Help with Ek 1 1914

Hello, I have this Iron Cross 1st class which came as part of a group. It is slightly vaulted. I am no expert on these pieces, so I would like to know your opinion about it. First of all, is it good? Is it made during 1914-1918 period, or later? What firm manufactured this cross? Thanks in advance.

That's a good looking group and a very nice Ek1.
I wish I could help with a makers name but I don't know who made this one.

Very nice. In my opinion the EK1 is by FR or W. These are difficult to differentiate without counting beads, etc.

The HOH is a medalbar type rather than an award type. I've seen this type in bronze or silver gilt, never gold. From your photos it seems like it could be gold but I have some doubts. With no marks whatsoever I would assume bronze gilt but I could be wrong.

                        Excellent group
                        Best regards,

very interesting. I have a similar cross that I have always believed was a FR
but was never sure. This helps reinforce my guess work.
