    1813 and 1870 EK2s - Original?

Have been offered these two EK2s. Would appreciate input on their originality or lack thereof.
    Thanks, Doug

I think pretty confident that both are original. The 1870 is a good looking
    cross made by AWS.

The 1813, I am about 95% confident in. The core details on the reverse side
are a little soft. The obverse side of the core looks like it has been painted
or coated with something and that has begun to chip off. It makes me wonder
if this an original that was very rusty and someone tried to dress it up at
    some point in time.

It will be interesting to see what others have to say about it.

Here is a thread with some examples to compare against ------

      The 1870 EK2 is authentic.

The 1813 EK2 needs better photos (very good detailed in-focus closeups incl. side angles, etc.) or an in-hand inspection. It's not a one-looker original in my opinion.

Here are more pics. It definitely looks like there was/is rust that has been painted/touched up.

That is not a cross I would buy.

What exactly did you not like about this cross?

I have reservations about it as well. The core is strange. Also the frame reminds me of the frame on this fake first class version.

The I wouldn’t dismiss this 1813 out of hand.
What are the reasons for doubt?
It definitely resembles one in the Max Aurich collection, but - I’d like to have it in hand or take the pictures
myself because these are too grainy.
