Do I need to pay up subscription to list images easily ? The process seems different from how I remember .
Would be happy to share some images from Philo Wuest 's WW1 Fighter pilots photo album .
He was trained to fly at Darmstadt under August Euler in 1911 . Euler had German pilots licence no1 .. Wuest pilot licence no 7 .
According to Los Angeles Times Newspaper article , which comes with the album ,Dated 31 jan 1954 .. during his long service Wuest flew with Von Richthofen and Udet and met the Wright Brothers . Crashed 15 times in the early years , worst injury only a broken nose . Although was shot through the chest in a dog fight . Claims to have shot down 4 planes , although one was a fellow German by mistake .
As war progressed he became a pilot instructor . During WW2 , now in late 50's and deemed to old to pilot , Flew 3000 as a crew member , mostly training flights with Fallschirmjager transport planes
