Here are some examples for the purportedly Meybauer badges -
they come with rayed and flat backs and different hardware (none of them has the typical Meybauer style)
Sometimes engravings are added to distract the attention from the obvious:
No matter how good the craftmanship on some of them may be, no matter if they are even made of silver - the false makers mark makes them a deceptive forgery to rip money from the unaware collector!

To substantiate the theory I add some examples of the same type of badge -
but with Juncker makers marks!
They are easily to be identified as counterfeits by their erroneus punches:
Juncker did not use the crown in marking their flight badges - at least this is the up-to-date collectors opinion...

And here´s the last example:
It comes without any makers mark, only with a silver-content punch - probably even that is false:
If you look at the strange colouring of the pin, it seems that a different base metal is showing under the finish..

All these different examples of the threadopening badge have been collected in less than a year - then I quit putting them in the archive because of their excessive emergence!
There must be hundreds of them around and some of them are very dangerous because they are extremely well made, probably even of silver!
When and by whom this has been done? Maybe by the notorious Dortmund fakers club - who knows?

I´ve put together this little compilation as a guide for interested fellow collectors -
there are more entertaining ways to burn your money than buying one of these fake badges

After recieving a PM regarding post 18:
Admittedly the last „silver“ example has at least -from the reverse - the elaborated tie strands and serrated crown rim, similar to the „Godet“-specimens.
The colour alterations might be a result of bad lighting...
The weak details might be wear on a soft silver piece...
The different pin catch might be a repair...
„Silber“ as a mark opposite to the asterisk for non precious metal would make sense then...
Hard to judge this one, because it has some details in common with the real ones...
but not every detail
