EK I 1914 AWS silver core?

I recently bought this AWS EK I with the wide pin and a second type AWS core. The cross is marked on the back with a 800 Silver mark. I personally have never seen a 800 mark on a EKI AWS. The core looks like to be made of silver. What is your opinion about this cross?

800 mark can be seen on AWS crosses as well. Not so often as 925, but it is nothing uncommon.
Silver test would tell more about the content, rather than guesses from the pics.

It seems reasonable that silver stamped AWS crosses are seldom seen
because IMO most AWS crosses did not use a silver frame. AWS is known
for using non-silver frames and sometimes non-iron cores.

Send Trevor a PM. He has handled a lot of AWS crosses.

              Thanks Greg.....much appriciate your opinion

That´s what I thought also, because I can not find other 800 marked ones and asked it here. Alle the silver marked AWS crosses I know, are marked with the 925 silvermark....... very characteristic for AWS.

Not the first time I´ve found out there is something magic with the Google here in Slovakia.
When I write "EK1 1914 AWS 800", the first post showing up is Trevor stating:
"...these were available in some kind of alloy, .800 silver, or .925 silver."
                http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ghlight=AWS+EK

And the second site is Weitze, offering very similar AWS cross as yours in 800 silver.

Ask your internet provider to fix up issues with dutch Google.

Thanks for your magic, you found one 800 marked AWS, but than again "it is nothing uncommon", you said.

Perhaps I ask my Dutch provider to fix up some issues with Google and find one more.....of these common crosses

They're not as common as the 925 marked ones but they do exist in both classes.

At first.....what a very beautifull AWS 800 marked EK II Cross

I hardly dare to say it here.... but this is the first time I seen such a beautifull 800 marked AWS EK II. Thanks for showing it! I hope to see more (with some Magic) and also find one for my own collection
