Is there any chance this is original? It's a few hundred bucks at a local antique mall. I'm guessing it's a repro.

Hello. If its possible, try to get a clearer photo of the piece. I just checked the badge using my computer just now and being honest from my viewpoint, the badge still looks like a cast to me. However I viewed the skull since "vonStubben" points out its a 2 piece, I view the skull as being separately attached giving the appearance of a two piece construction. I may be wrong however better photos are required to be sure this rare award is authentic. Thanks, Martin
