Its Indian copy, but highly transformed!

It's a copy of a Kuerassier helmet with a JzP Wappen.

Sorry guys, but it is actually a REAL WARTIME ERSATZ helmet. And it is a Very Rare Example to find.

It is NOT a fake Indian made helmet or put together helmet as some here have unfortunately claimed. Most collectors have never seen one of these Rare Ersatz Lobster Tail Cavalry helmets before, as they seldom come up for sale.

As an interesting side note, I have seen 4-of these examples in various form sell in the past 12-months. Age of Kings sold one, as did Stewart's Military Antiques, and Daniel Griffin sold one as well.

I'll post one that I missed out on recently because I was asleep at the wheel and forgot to place a bid on it. It sold for a mere $300 + auction commission. The other 3-sellers I mention above all sold their examples for $1,500+. Another one was listed in the past month on eBay USA in the same $1,500 price range. Not sure if it sold or not.

Liner of helmet I missed out on recently, and the "8 J P" Jaeger zu Pferde issue marking on the bottom edge of the inside of the rear visor for the 8th Jaeger zu Pferde. I believe that the other 3-examples I saw that sold by the above mentioned dealers also had Jaeger zu Pferde issue markings on them as well.

Sometimes you see these ersatz lobster tail helmets with an ersatz integral stamped out football shape spike base on the top of the helmet with a separately applied spike to the integral base. This one I posted clearly has a separately attached football shape spike base such as what one would normally see on a Kurassier helmet.
