I do have a question regarding the time frame of the "bent-stem-core" - sometimes referred to as "Blücher-style" because this design was found in his estate. If this would have been his awarded piece, this core design would be an early one. Wernitz dates it to a period as late as "second half of the 19th century", meaning that the Blücher family bought it as an replacement in the later years.
They usually come with a more sophisticated frame (see first picture) than the first examples, so that they are classified (to my knowledge...) as private purchase pieces from appr. 1839 to 1865.
In an german auction house theres one for sale right now with a frame that looks like a massive piece (at least on the pictures).
If this is not an "old school" replacement frame it would give the core a quite early first appearance, casting a different light onto the Blücher story...
What do you think -or what is your opinion/stand of information regarding this topic?
