    Who is this Prussian General?

This photo appears on the frontpiece of Brian L Davis's "German Army Uniforms and Insignia 1933-1945" and is captioned as "high ranking officers in Berlin during the early years of the Third Reich". I have tentatively identified the PLM Oakleaves winner to the extreme left of the photograph as General der Infanterie a.D. Erich von Tschischwitz (17 May 1870-26 Sep 1958), then "Chef" of Infanterie-Regiment 30. This would date the photograph probably late 1935/early 1936. Does anyone recognise the Prussian general with the PLM?

That's RĂ¼diger von der Goltz-- note his 1918 Finnish Cross of Liberty dangling there down from the throat and his large 5 rayed Finnish White Rose star.

His mustache throws off IDs since he was clean-shaven while on active duty and only seems to have grown it in old age.

      Rick,

a thousand thanks! I had thought it was him or General der Infanterie Ernst von Bacmeister but that clinches it! He has aged since this portrait photo.

Came across this portrait sketch of the general. The likeness is even more apparent in this one. His uniform in the original photograph is somewhat irregular. Brandenburg cuffs were not regulation for a general officer. Perhaps he had added general's insignia and breast pockets to his old infantry regiment Hamburg (2nd Hanseatic) number 76 uniform of which he was the last pre war commander.
