Imperial EK2 bar with TR additions

    Good day folks

Here is a really awesome EK2 bar with all sorts of extras.

Imperial EK2, Combattant's Cross, Nazi Party 15 & 10 Year Faithful Service Crosses, Hungary WW1 Commemorative Medal and Bulgarian WWI Commemorative Medal.

I don't know if there is an accepted term for medal bars that include Imperial and Third Reich medals but I call them cross over bars. I love them.

This group belonged to SA Sturmführer Alfred Meckenstock. Part of a larger group of items at I have. I haven't been able to find out if he survived WW2.

    Enjoy

Looks very nice. IMO this is a Third Reich medal bar as it was constructed in that era. Imperial bars are constructed pre nov 1918. Construction date is key not the medals on it. This bar has only one WWI medal (EK), the rest is post-WWI/thirties.

You are correct. It couldn't have been constructed pre 1918. Looking at it that way it is a TR bar.

Wow, a reaaaaaly nice and complete grouping! With all kinds of bars/miniatures etc. Very rarely seen together. I really like the minis on buttonhole device, never seen these before. It's also interesting that he had one ribbon bar without Hungary/Bulgaria medals. Perhaps he applied for these two later or just a coincidence?

It's a great looking group. The condition of the pieces is amazing.
The enamel on the Ek mini is still bright and shiny.

                +1

Ribbons & medals both in perfect shape! Amazing how those ribbons still hold that brilliant white sheen after all this time - must have been a case of being put away and never bothered again for the most part.

Any maker label on the bars/ribbon backs?

                Very nice group!

Yes you can see the inside of the box they must have lived in since the 1940s in one of the photos. The box has Treue um Treue inside the lid.

                  Thanks for the comments everyone.

James, thanks for sharing those beautiful pieces . Interesting to note that the two NSDAP minis are from two different producers, Schickle and ?.

                    cheers
