    1914 EK I Discback

I'm interested in your thoughts about this EK I. I'm fairly confident that the cross and nut are original. My concern is the disc. The disc appears to be aluminum (its not magnetic). I've seen other crosses of this type, but the disc has been tin or some other metal. You can see that the disc has been engraved, but not professionally. The cross is vaulted and has a magnetic core. Thank you for looking.

IMO a Deumer cross with a Zinc disc. The cross and disc are polished.
IMO disc and nut are original to the cross!

Thank you for your reply. I feel a little better about the disc. I KNEW I should have paid more attention in high school science class!

Polished zinc looks and weighs very similar to aluminium so don't beat yourself up too much!

Thanks Gary. I can still see my freshman high school science teacher in my mind...but I can't remember his name. I also never associated polished zinc for what I supposed was aluminum. My mind was in a rut.
