reservist stein

I'm far from an expert, but this appears to be an airship stein. I have never seen an airship stein before. First names on steins aren't usually included on original steins. The inside of an original steins lid is usually pretty clean and shiny. This ones lid on the inside has the same patina as the outside, common on fake steins where patina is artificially added. Lots of red flags in my opinion, but like I said...I'm no expert. Hopefully someone else will chime in
Cheers

The patina on the lid is a bad indication. Also the bulge in the center of the handle. The small details aren't hand painted, which should be. Also, I think the litho is not period. This looks like the steins made in the 50's or 60's.
I've had a couple ink stamped Germany on the bottom. A few with stickers marked W Germany, but most unmarked.Last edited by mailman; 05-31-2018, 01:26 AM.
