IMO not an awarded original. But isn't that a reduction (2/3 of regular size)? What are the dimensions?

    regards

The cross is Jubileum S&L from 1905+, probably repainted.
The clasp is either heavily worn original or softly cast fake. Isn´t there any pics of the reverse (of the oaks)?

          Hi,
I meant reverse of the oaks, not of the ribbon. Is it possible to bend the ribbon to see whether oaks are hollow struck or not?

Anyway, that copper wire smells fishy...

The cross is a 1870 made during the Jubilee era. ( The 25 year anniversary
of the German victories of 1870-71) This cross was made by "Steinhauer
& Lück" in 1905. As fall as we can tell from the pictures provided, there is
                  nothing wrong with it.

                      Hi Greg...
Wouldn't a Jubilee cross be made around 1895-96 for the 25th anniversary?
How was it determined to be circa 1905?

                        Hi Tony.
We pretty much classify any 1870 cross made past 1895 as a Jubilee
era cross. I realize that's well past the actual Jubilee but I don't think
we've ever bothered to ga any farther than that.

I think that it was Trevor (please correct me if I'm wrong) that found a picture
from a 1905 S/L catalog that showed this particular style of 1870.
