I found conlicting info about the LL stamp. Previtera says it was Lauer and Wernitz attributes it to Lemcke.

You know....you are absolutely right. I found the exact same frame and core on eBay, an 1870 EK1 but with a coke bottle pin stamped 21. Seller is Bergfuhrer. Mine was on eBay and came from a German seller. Yamahade13. The guy also offered me another 1870 Wagner LOTGH which thankfully I remembered as a fake.

Beware of these guys. Don't bother reporting them to eBay. eBay loves these kink of crooks and will do nothing. Sellers like this and the 9.95 starting price shill bidder auctions are eBay's favorites. They bring in the dollars for their shareholders. But that's another story.

I am requesting a return and I'll go all the way back to eBay's and Paypal's money back guarantee to get it. We'll put these crooks up on the radar.

I am sitting here eating my humble pie and thought I needed to thank the gentlemen (even including Greg...) on the Imperial Forum for pointing out the fakes in my collection. I guess I just didn't realize how good the fakers have become. They have come a long way since the laser cut 1870, 1914, and 1939 Iron Crosses came out. At least I have not shelled out too many bucks on any of these

Thank you, I am learning a lot....kicking and screaming all the way.

You are a credit to this forum and I hope you stick around

Here are a few more of this type. They also make 1914 EKs.

                Money Back

The seller on eBay who sold me the 1870 pinback agreed to a refund. Looking in his feedback, another buyer had his money returned also on a different award. This seller may be selling someone else's fakes, not knowing.
