An enlisted cavalry soldier's private purchase KD89 sword for wearing off duty. The sword is a very nice one with a desirable blue paneled blade. As for the appliqué applied over the Prussian state emblem, I don't think that it left the factory that way. FP

Frogprince, I think that you may be right on this. I have a similar sword to this regiment - same engraved panels, etc. However, mine does not have the separately applied death’s head insignia; and I cannot recall ever having seen another, over the years, example with it.
