      Great MB Walther. Very nice! Interesting sequence with the Prussian medals preceding the Oldenburg ones. I assume the officer was Prussian but not from Oldenburg but possibly serving as an officer in an Oldenburg unit. The probably more common sequence would have been EK, Oldenburg cross, RAO, VO Oldenburg, DA, Zitrone.

      The RAO and VO Oldenburg were most likely awarded prior to WWI otherwise I would have expected swords on the VO Oldenburg. Now the RAO was usually awarded upon retirement of an officer. If so, this MB belonged to an older officer who might have been reactivated for WWI.

        Hello Walter;

        GREAT BAR! I agree with W on the sequence and the likely reason that this gentleman put the medals in the order he did.

        Oh wow, that Oldenburg House Order really anchors that last spot!
