NOT saying it is a fake but not at all like my grandfather's. Not the mini, not the ribbon. No idea when the one that started the thread was made. I do have pics of my grandfather wearing this in the 1920's. He isn't around to ask when he purchased it. Seriously doubt any of these were "wartime". When in uniform my grandfather had no reason to wear this, only on civilian dress and those are the pics of him I have wearing this one. Just posting a little info. History on all of these is probably lost but I know the story on the von Etzel piece.

following my references, the one you showed us was made during the war time 1914-1918. the one I got features the 1918-1930 buttonback
