It doesn't match the one in their catalog very well.

I did not like it much myself, the seller is convinced it is real,

            Don’t like the patina!
The reverse shot towards the crown cuts - the edges and the base look soft. The catch is no better too.
Hand inspectection should give you a better perspective!
The Meybayer crest is faked almost to perfection. So that doesn’t give you any advantage. The hinge is a good place to look for age and detail as well as the edges and the front of the badge!
            I don’t like it!

The detail on the laurel leaves seems poor to me . I have three of these and they all are much better detail overall, even the late war zink version I have. Having said that, I notice that the hinge block has chamfered corners which is a typical Meybauer characteristic and a feature I have never seen on a fake . Has the fakers detail observance just gone up a notch ,or is this just a poorly pressed original . The rest of the reverse hardware looks acceptable to me. Certainly the wear/ loss of the gilding looks convincing too . As someone mentioned , one would get a better heads up if it were in hand. My motto is if doesn’t feel right walk away.

Making Another comparison with accepted Meybauer pieces shows the eagles are quite different , not a good sign.

                    Not only the eagle...
(Bow and crown don´t match either.)
                    I would not buy it.
                    Regards
                    Hagrid
