Neck chained medal or award question

Hey there guys this is for a friend of mine . He found this medal inside of a pre ww1 stein inside his grandmother house and need some with identification. I don’t see any maker marks on it . Thanks for all your help.

It appears to only be jewelry and not an order or decoration and not made of precious metal IMO.
