    Unknown Prussian Frederick Badge

This steel badge 5cm long x 3,8cm wide with 1,8cm rad. with a thread & screw fixing attachment was amongst a convolute I bought. The motif has a Prussian Eagle, on its front are the initials F.R. which I take to mean Frederick Rex. The back has no makers mark, could any member say what it came from !. Any information appreciated, Cheers

Maybe, just by the shape, something related to the popular German walking canes.
A royal cane could be ?

Thanks for the post Otter76, it did get me thinking - a walking stick cane with a 36mm diameter I reckon would maybe a little too big and heavy, usually the tin badges on walking sticks are fixed by small tacks going through small holes on the badge's front edge. How about (a guess) a badge from a cavalry man's ceremonial lance or maybe from a regiments flag staff ! just a guess, I know too little.

Nice guess. A flag metal pole or lance would have a hole in order to screw the nut. Very possible

Yes, Ponomarev - your link is bingo, I don't read Russian, does your thread give any idea of the date of the flag badge ? I read 1870 but don't understand the connection ! being common I wonder are these things worth anything ? I've included the pictures, in case the link gets lost. Again thanks for the help.
