    CD 800 Carl Dillenius Pforzheim

    I wish to share this CD 800 Carl Dillenius Pforzheim ek which I bought, it was in an old frame which I removed for photographic purpose.
    I wish to ask for an advice, should I mount it back into the frame and hang it in my room or leave at it is, store the document with the rest documents I have safe in a file., the reason I am asking is, would the room light damage the document by time.
    Is it possible to translate the document plus any information regarding the regiment please. Tks.

        Yes, the sun light will slowly fade the document. If you still want to see the document and cross, an alternative would be to put a photo copy in the frame.

        And when you file the original, be sure to use acid-free archive materials. Otherwise sometime when you go to check on it you may be in for a nasty surprise.

            The gist of the translation;

            By the highest command of his majesty the Kaiser to award to

            Private I. Lieb [or is that "I" a "T"?]
            (of)
            Reserve Infantry Regiment 118th, 4th company
            by the Commanding Generals of
            XIII Royal Wurttemberg Infantry Corp.

            (date awarded)
            November 30, 1916
